Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty at MAMAC for an exceptional evening
On November 16, 2023, Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty was privileged to be associated with a not-to-be-missed event for contemporary art lovers in Nice. The Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain de Nice (MAMAC) hosted the annual meal of the association "Les amis du MAMAC", the last major event to be held at the museum before its two-year closure.
The event was a celebration of the association's ongoing support for the museum and its role in the cultural enrichment of Nice. Internationally renowned Franco-Vietnamese artist THU-VAN TRAN was the guest of honor, honored for her exhibition 'Nous Vivons dans l'Éclat'.
Her first French museum exhibition brilliantly highlighted her dual Franco-Vietnamese culture, as well as the historical and cultural links between France and Vietnam.
Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty at MAMAC
Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty, a privileged partner of the event, was represented by part of the Nice real estate agency team: Véronique de Lavenne, a former gallery owner and now an expert real estate advisor in the Nice area, Nicolas Benbassat Giurolo, a prestige real estate advisor and art lover, and Eric Laboue, director of the 5 rue Longchamp real estate agency. Maud Damevin and Frédéric Barth, CEO and member of the Private Desk at Côte d'Azur Sotheby's International Realty, were also present, both contemporary art enthusiasts.
An exceptional evening at the MAMAC
The evening began with a fascinating tour of the exhibition, guided by Hélène Guenin and THU-VAN TRAN herself, offering unique insights into her work. The dinner that followed brought together a diverse community of artists, gallerists, collectors and friends of MAMAC, all gathered in a historic setting surrounded by works of Pop Art and Nouveau Réalisme.
The highlight of the evening was the setting ablaze of Yves Klein's monumental work 'Le Mur de Feu', on the museum's terraces. This spectacle provided a spectacular end to an already unforgettable evening, symbolizing the transformation and imminent rebirth of MAMAC. It was a moment to celebrate art, culture and friendship, rooted in Nice's rich artistic heritage.
The MAMAC in Nice
Located in the heart of Nice, close to Place Garibaldi and adjoining the Coulée Verte, MAMAC invites you to plunge into the fascinating world of contemporary art, from the 1950s to the present day. Its exceptional collection features over 1,300 works created by 300 artists, offering a unique dialogue between European New Realism and the American expression of Pop Art and assemblage art.
The museum also exhibits emblematic pieces of minimalist art and arte povera, highlighting two key figures of the 20th century: Yves Klein, with an exclusive permanent room thanks to the Yves Klein Archives, and Niki de Saint Phalle, whose donation in 2001 constitutes one of the largest European collections of the artist's work. As a place of artistic excellence, MAMAC offers a dynamic program of internationally renowned exhibitions, presented both on the museum's first stage and in its contemporary gallery.
These exhibitions alternate between captivating themes and monographs dedicated to key figures in the art of the last six decades.
Immerse yourself in a unique artistic journey at MAMAC, where innovation and creativity meet to offer an unforgettable cultural experience.
